Meet Rodocker Group Founder, Phil

The Rodocker Group, led by founder and Managing Broker Phil Rodocker, is a trusted real estate team based out of the John L. Scott Renton office. Since 1989, Phil has helped buyers and sellers navigate the housing markets of Renton, Maple Valley, Issaquah, Fairwood, Newcastle, the Greater Eastside, South King County, Pierce County, Enumclaw, Black Diamond and Sammamish. With more than three decades of experience and a calm, engineering minded approach, Phil is known for providing clarity, care and expertise throughout every step of the real estate process.

A Managing Broker, REALTOR®, GRI graduate and Seniors Real Estate Specialist® (SRES®), Phil also holds John L. Scott's Certified Buyer Representation Specialist®, Certified Seller Marketing Specialist® and Certified Open House Specialist® designations. The Rodocker Group specializes in listings and seller representation, luxury homes, first-time buyers, relocation, investment properties, new construction and waterfront or view homes. With strong negotiation skills, deep market knowledge and comprehensive data driven strategy, the team is dedicated to protecting their clients’ goals and bottom line.

Phil’s professional journey began with an engineering career at Boeing, where he developed strengths in systems thinking, communication and problem solving. He entered real estate in 1989 selling log homes, gaining hands on experience with unique construction and lifestyle properties. Just two years later, a friend introduced him to John L. Scott, where he has built his career ever since. Phil also recently built his own home near Issaquah Hobart Road, giving him firsthand insight into custom construction, land evaluation and the rural residential lifestyle of the Issaquah and Maple Valley corridor.

Education and client empowerment have always been central to Phil’s business philosophy. He has developed and taught first time homebuyer courses, and over the years shifted much of his focus toward specializing in listings, where he excels. Phil also works with investors interested in property improvement and flipping opportunities, expanding his expertise across multiple segments of the real estate market.

Clients consistently describe Phil and the Rodocker Group as client first, communicative, knowledgeable and highly effective. The team leverages professional photography, staging, open houses, targeted internet advertising and the latest real estate technology to maximize listing exposure and results. Having sold more than 2,500 homes, Phil has earned recognition as a multimillion-dollar producer, top performer and consistent recipient of five-star client satisfaction.

Community involvement has always been a core part of Phil’s life. A lifelong Maple Valley resident, he and his wife are deeply committed to supporting those in need. They work closely with Vine Maple Place, a local organization providing assistance and housing support to families facing homelessness. Phil is also active in his local church, where he has served on the board of directors and volunteers regularly. Additionally, he supports Seattle Children’s Hospital and international charities focused on reducing poverty in third world communities. Phil strongly identifies with John L. Scott’s principle of Living Life as a Contribution™, and strives to reflect that value both personally and professionally.

As true local experts, the Rodocker Group enjoys helping clients connect to the communities they serve—from exploring Lake Wilderness Park, the Four Corners area and the Maple Valley Farmers Market, to visiting Issaquah’s historic downtown and outdoor areas like the Tiger Mountain trail system near the Issaquah Hobart corridor where Phil and his family make their home. They also appreciate the region’s broader lifestyle amenities, including Renton’s waterfront at Gene Coulon Memorial Beach Park and the Renton Farmers Market.

Outside of real estate, Phil enjoys spending time with family, traveling, volunteering, caring for pets, attending local events and anything involving cars or motorsports. Whether clients are buying their first home, moving up, downsizing or building a long-term investment strategy, the Rodocker Group is committed to guiding them with experience backed insight, integrity and a relationship focused approach.

Renton

Renton sits on the southeast shore of Lake Washington and at the junction of three major hiways: I5, I405 and state route 167. That means we have easy access to Seattle, Bellevue, SeaTac airport, and the rest of the Puget Sound area, as well as the Lake and the Cascades including Mt Rainier. Renton was incorporated in the early 1900s, but we really grew when Boeing started building planes here during World War 2. In the decades since, many large corporations have set up homes here, including Paccar, which makes Kenworth and Peterbilt commercial vehicles. IKEA opened their first Pacific Northwest location here in the mid 90s. The downtown core has been revitalized and is now home to the Piazza. During the summer, the Piazza hosts a farmers market, but there are events here throughout the year. Renton is also home to the facility where the Seattle Seahawk train. Every summer, we have Renton River days, which was named for the Cedar river that flows right through town on its way to Lake Washington. The multiple day event features a parade, arts and crafts, food, entertainment and a kid’s zone with inflatables and other activities. Renton has homes of all styles. Luxury homes on the water or in the Highlands, condos and townhouses overlooking Lake Washington, and new homes in friendly neighborhoods. All with access to tons of hiking and biking trails, a vibrant downtown and some of the nicest people in the world. If you’d like to learn more about Renton, let us know. We’d love to show you around and help you find your perfect home.

Reviews

"This is the second transaction we have done with Phil Rodocker. Obviously we were happy with the service we got from him and his team the first time so it was an easy decision to use him the second time. Phil assisted with pricing our very beautiful house correctly and gave us tips for ways to make it show better for new buyers. He was with us every step of the way. Not much more I can say. Professional, well regarded by the local real estate community, a great communicator and overall a fine person with a great team."

"After letting our first agent go we were very cautious about hiring our second agent. We interviewed multiple agents before deciding on Phil as our next listing agent. Ultimately the decision was made easy due to the fact that Phil was totally transparent with us about what it would take to sell our house. He was truly genuine in all the info he gave us. He also spent multiple hours with us the first night answering all our questions. I can honestly and wholeheartedly say that Phil made the selling process extremely easy. And of course he sold our home incredibly quickly which is a testament to his work ethic and the team he has behind him!"

"We have known Phil for a few years now. He has been doing business with my in-laws and recently has helped us sell our condo and buy our first single family home. Phil is very knowledgeable and cares about you and your family. He is a pleasure to work with and will get you the best deal he can. His team is AMAZING! They are quick to help and always prompt to respond! They have made our buying and selling experience easy. Will definitely use them in any of our future real estate endeavors."
